Sticking to an RX schedule

As a Priority Health member, you have a lot of options to keep your medication costs low while still taking your drugs as prescribed.

Sticking with your medication schedule can improve your long-term health, especially if you have a chronic condition like diabetes, COPD, high cholesterol, etc. We know it’s easy to forget a dose, and sometimes it’s even tempting to skip one to try to save money, but you actually cost yourself more money in the long term as a result of associated health problems and hospital stays.

As a Priority Health member, you can opt for a 90-day supply of your medications instead of a standard 30-day supply—saving you money and extra trips to the pharmacy.

Use the Express Scripts Home Delivery Order Form to have your 90-day supply mailed right to your door, or ask your doctor about switching to a 90-day supply.

Why enroll in a 90-day medication supply?

Convenience: A 90-day supply means less trips to the pharmacy—at least two less trips, in fact, if you typically refill medications every 30 days.

Better health: Fewer trips to the pharmacy means fewer opportunities to run out of your medications—and taking medications as directed can improve your long-term health.

Tips for taking your meds on time

First, understand when and how you need to take your medication: In the morning? At night? With food? On an empty stomach?

  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about any questions or concerns you have about your medication schedule.

Get organized and set up a schedule that works for you.

  • Pill boxes are useful if you have multiple medications you take every day.
  • Set daily reminders on your phone to alert you when it’s time to take your medication.
  • Try taking your medications with an everyday task, like eating breakfast or brushing your teeth. Make your meds a part of that daily ritual so you won’t forget to take them.
