Doula Services
A doula is a non-clinical trained professional who provides emotional, physical and educational support to a mother who is pregnant, is in labor or has recently given birth. They work with a maternity care team to help women have a positive and safe birth, but do not provide any medical care. Their purpose is to help expecting mothers take charge of their pregnancy health, ensure a comfortable birthing experience and provide support through the first weeks of postpartum.
Doula services are covered in your Priority Health Medicaid health plan. To find a doula in your plan's network, use our Find a Doctor tool > click Doctor by Specialty > search "doula". For help with finding a doula, contact Priority Health Customer Service at 888.975.8102.
