Latest additions to Priority Health behavioral health provider network offer specialized support

(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — October 10, 2024) In recognition of World Mental Health Day on October 10, Priority Health has announced two new additions to its behavioral health provider network, continuing its effort to support the unique health care needs of its members. So far this year, more than 1,800 mental health providers have been added to the Priority Health provider network.

Backpack Healthcare offers comprehensive, virtual pediatric and family mental health care, and it is available to all Priority Health members. Folx Health specializes in LGBTQIA care, providing primary care services including prescription management for anxiety and depression, gender-affirming care and referrals to in-person care; it is available to members enrolled in an employer or Individual health plan. Both organizations offer virtual visits, making it easier for members to access care from the comfort of their homes.

Dr. Charletta Dennis, medical director of behavioral health at Priority Health, said the need for accessible mental health care has never been more pressing.

“Expanding our mental health provider network is a vital part to ensuring our members receive the support they need,” said Dennis. “By adding innovative, virtual providers like Backpack Healthcare and Folx Health, we are making mental health services more accessible to our members with specialized needs.”

The addition of Backpack Healthcare and Folx Health complements Priority Health’s comprehensive behavioral health services, which include 24/7 crisis support and Teladoc Health Mental Health, a self-help mental well-being platform available for all Priority Health members 13 years and older. Priority Health members can also use the Find-a-Doctor tool to find providers that meet their specific needs.

Dennis said Priority Health remains dedicated to improving mental health care access and will continue to seek innovative solutions to support the well-being of its members.

The latest network additions were made ahead of annual and open enrollment. The Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare is October 15 to December 7, 2024. The Open Enrollment Period for Individual and family health plans is November 1, 2024 to January 15, 2025.
