Priority Health receives national recognition for diversity in the workplace
(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — February 12, 2024) Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan serving more than 1.3 million members, is being nationally recognized for its commitment to offering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Newsweek has named Priority Health one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024.
“When we embrace diverse perspectives, we create a pathway and atmosphere for visionary ideas and solutions,” said Praveen Thadani, president of Priority Health. “I am so proud of this recognition that serves as a reflection of how we prioritize and are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.”
Priority Health continues to implement initiatives to foster DE&I principles into the fabric of the organization. One example is the Priority Health Culture & Diversity Council, established to assist in developing a pipeline of diverse and inclusive talent and to assist in retaining and developing a more diverse workforce to help drive value and innovation.
“A diverse workforce cultivates creativity that stems from a variety of experiences and backgrounds, and we know the impact of this work positively affects our Priority Health members,” said Jen Parks, vice president for human resources at Priority Health. “Integrating DE&I principles into our operations ensures a more inclusive and culturally competent approach to health care, promoting a sense of belonging for our diverse health plan members.”
Research for this designation included a survey of more than 223,000 employees nationwide; respondents shared insights into corporate culture, working environments and other aspects of both their own companies and others they were familiar with, resulting in more than 1.5 million company reviews.
