Premium assistance
Premium assistance is when you get Extra Help from Medicare to pay for your Medicare prescription drug plan costs. Since Priority Health Medicare Advantage plan premiums include coverage for both medical services and prescription drug coverage, the Extra Help you receive lowers your monthly premium costs.
Medicare automatically notifies you if you qualify for premium assistance. They also tell us how much assistance you're receiving so we can tell you what your monthly premium is.
How to find out if you qualify for getting Extra Help
If you know you qualify for premium assistance, there is no need to apply. You automatically qualify for premium assistance if you're eligible for:
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Medicare savings program
You may receive (or may have already received) a letter from Medicare or the Social Security Administration (SSA) about your premium assistance eligibility for this plan year.
If you have not received a letter from Medicare or the SSA, but think you may qualify for premium assistance, call:
- 800.MEDICARE. TTY/TDD users should call 877.486.2048, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- The Social Security office at 800.772.1213 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. TTY users should call 800.325.0778.
