Definition

The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is an evidence-based lifestyle change program recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The program applies to adults over the age of 18 with prediabetes or at risk to develop type 2 diabetes. Commercial and Medicare members who meet eligibility criteria are able to participate in the DPP once per lifetime. Learn more about what the program offers members. 

Interested in offering DPP at your office?

Providers offering DPP must confirm participants meet eligibility criteria outlined by the CDC and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) before they can participate in DPP or Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP). We reimburse providers who offer the program
