What is preventive health care?
Preventive care includes specific health care services that help you avoid potential health problems or find them early when they are most treatable, before you feel sick or have symptoms.
Examples of these services are flu shots, lab tests, physical exams and some prescriptions.
We pay for preventive care services in full when you receive them from an in-network provider.
Diagnostic services are health care services intended to help your doctor diagnose or determine the type of or cause of your symptoms.
If you are feeling sick or having symptoms when you receive services, this is not considered preventive care, and you’ll need to pay your portion of the cost (coinsurance, copayments or deductibles may apply).
